چکیده

Accepted 5 January 1999 Carpenter, J. M. & W. C. Wheeler. (1999). Towards simultaneous analysis of molecular and morphological data in Hymenoptera. Ð Zoologica Scripta 28, 251±260. Principles and methods of simultaneous analysis in cladistics are reviewed, and the first, preliminary, analysis of combined molecular and morphological data on higher level relationships in Hymenoptera is presented to exemplify these principles. The morphological data from Ronquist et al. (in press) matrix, derived from the character diagnoses of the phylogenetic tree of Rasnitsyn (1988), are combined with new molecular data for representatives of 10 superfamilies of Hymenoptera by means of optimization alignment. The resulting cladogram supports Apocrita and Aculeata as groups, and the superfamly Chrysidoidea, but not Chalcidoidea, Evanioidea, Vespoidea and Apoidea. James M. Phylogeny of bumble bees in the New World subgenus Fervidobombus (Hymenoptera: Apidae): congruence of molecular and morphological data.

We present new DNA sequence data (12S, 16S, and opsin gene fragments) and morphological characters of the male genitalia for a phylogenetic analysis of the bumble bee subgenus Fervidobombus. There is no significant incongruence between the three molecular data sets, and little incongruence between the DNA and morphology. Simultaneous analysis of all the data partitions resulted in a tree that w...

A Taxonomic Reassessment of Consolida (Ranunculaceae) Species: Insight from Morphological and Molecular Data

In order to compare the efficiency of morphological traits and molecular markers in distinguishing the Consolida species, molecular analysis using nrDNA ITS and cpDNA trnL-trnF with maximum parsimony and Bayesian methods were done in a total of 34 species and forma representing 28 species of Consolida, 6 species of Aconitella, plus two species of Delphinium and two species of Aconitum as out gr...

Phylogeny of some species of Astragalus (Fabaceae) based on morphological data

The phylogenetic relationships among 39 species belonging to 12 sections of Astragalus from Iran were studied on the basis of 29 morphological characters. The cladistics analysis of the morphological data was performed using PAUP* 4.0b10 program. The obtained data were compared with the molecular systematics data obtained from nuclear DNA ITS. In contrast with previous molecular systematic stud...

Towards conservation and breeding of Ajowan (Trachyspermum ammi) by assessing ISSR, morphological traits and germination variability

Ajowan is one of the most important members of medicinal plants of the Apiaceae, consumed by humans. The aim of this study was to explore genetic variability of 20 ajowan populations by ISSR fingerprinting and evaluation of traits at germination. Out of the 30 ISSR primers, ten generated reproducible and polymorphic bands. A total of 93 bands were detected out of which 65 were polymorphic. High...

Simultaneous analysis of the basal lineages of Hymenoptera (Insecta) using sensitivity analysis

The first simultaneous analysis of molecular and morphological data of basal hymenopterans that includes exemplars from all families is presented. DNA sequences (of approximately 2000–2700 bp for each taxon) from the nuclear genes 18S and 28S and the mitochondrial genes 16S and CO1 have been sequenced for 39 taxa (four outgroup taxa, 29 symphytans, and six apocritans). These DNA sequences and 2...
